DAD AND THE COMPUTER

I am a little computer challenged….Am I scared of the computer??? Is it a lack of experience???? Could this be a genetic thing??? My Dad thinks that if he were to use the computer and just happened to push a wrong button…well he just might have blown up the world!!!! Hmmmmmmm.… It can’t be genetic!!! Case in point…Same genetics shared by my amazing Brother (HI JOHN) who is a computer genius and works running computer companies….. John and I have got a real challenge getting my Dad to feel comfortable with his ability to turn on the computer AND not blow up the world….You see, my Mom will be traveling with me for 2-21/2 weeks to pick up my little Tate and I want him to log on often and see my newly-made family and his new granddaughter who just happens to be on the other side of the WORLD in China!!!! I want him to know, love and bond to my little Tate even before he will get to meet her at the airport.

Lisa, even computer illiterate fathers can CHANGE! My father is CASE IN POINT! He had NO CLUE how to use the computer & could've cared less, UNTIL he learned of me adopting Ruby... man did he CHANGE HIS TUNE! The man can now not only read & reply to email, but he can check his stocks, view my blog, upload & send pictures from his DIGITAL CAMERA, but (his favorite) HE CAN EVEN PLAY SOLITAIRE! hee hee
If my Italian born immigrant father can do it, YOUR DAD SHOULD BE A PIECE OF CAKE! Don't lose hope that he'll open up to the idea, after all, little Tate'r Tot is going to want to say NI HOW to her Grandfather AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! ;)

Keep the faith & say your prayers every night & you'll be amazed at the changes people in your life will be willing to make on yours & Tate's behalf.

Miracles do happen... mine's asleep in her crib in the next room at this very minute...
...and yours is waiting for the day when you can fly to China to get her.

I'M PROUD OF YOU & ALL OF US SINGLE MOTHERS WHO ARE BRAVE ENOUGH TO EMBARK ON THIS JOURNEY SOLO & DO IT WITH STYLE, DIGNITY, GRACE, LOVE & COMPASSION! We're all BETTER MOTHERS FOR IT! Never forget that!!!!!!!!

XOXOXO

(and that bow wasn't necessarily a new bow for Christmas, it was one of the many bows I got at the Rugged Bear, ISN'T IT ADORABLE?)

My folks are the same way. Mom will call me and say, Shannie I have this thingy that my friend emailed me and I don't see it. And i'm like Mom, click on the ATTACHMENT. Boom, I'm surrounded by Oh Shannon you're just so smart! It makes me laugh my butt off. Poor folks. But they ARE getting more savy, it just takes time and LOTS of patience and "lessons" from me. HA HA HA...who would have ever thought *I* would be the computer genius? LOL
