BLOND ASIAN

Oh-
Just got back from doing the last thing I needed for my Dossier....The 2 x 2 passport size picture....I already have a valid passport so this was just for the Dossier... I started reading a Single Adopt China Chat group a while ago and one of the obsessions talked about in this chat group was the fact that this 2 x 2 picture was the only picture that the CCAA uses to match you with your baby. This got me thinking that I better look good for that picture cause I wanted a cute baby..As if any baby could be other than cute.... I am blond and blue eyes so how could they really match me to an Asian child based on my looks? Kinkos did a great job in taking that picture and I look like a blond blue-eyed Asian woman..... Hard to explain but even the counter girl thought so....Hmmmmmmmm.......... Fate to the rescue!!!

I got mine done twice too!

As I was sending my dossier to my agency, I was at Kinko's reviewing everything and putting it in the envelope and I had a sudden surge of photo remorse thinking the same thing you did, so I refreshed my makeup and had them do another photo.

Lisa,

When we got M's referral photo, we were shocked because she was wearing a white smocked dress and white tights; it was nothing like the thousands of other referral photos we had seen. Where were the 16 layers of clothes? The split pants with a prop strategically placed to maintain her dignity? We joked that they picked her out for us because in most of our dossier photos, we were dressed up (for church.) She looked like she was on her way to her blessing day!

Hey, if you end up finding your daughter on a special needs list, maybe she'll have albinism and you'll know fate really WAS at work! :o) You can both be blonde, blue-eyed Asians!

Since I'll soon have a red-haired Haitian baby, I'm first to say "never say never." ;o)

Hilarious! I think I was thinking something similar when I had my photos done - I made and effort to make my eyeliner extend a little past my eye, for that 'asian' appearance - of my very blue eyes! ha ha ha!!! The things we do!

OMG, that's an AWESOME passport photo! I looked like an escaped convict / crack addict. Thank God Scott's was cute. I'm sure the matching room folks got a real good laugh out of my pics...

Glad you shared!

Oh man, that is an *excellent* picture. Sigh. Mine? Oh well, no need to dwell on the fact that NO ONE told me I needed to worry about mine until after we had sent it off. I look like a felon. Ugh. Yours? Well it's lovely!
