MISSING YOU

Is it me or is anyone else BUMMED that so many blogs are closing down. It seems that once bloggers are back from China with their kiddos then they decide to quit the blogging world and leave me high and dry. It is kind of like, I was part of their roller coaster ride. I was reading these blogs during the blue times of the disappointing slowdown, the anticipation of when they receive their referrals and TA and the joyous Metcha/Gotcha time. I just loved being able to click onto your link and see the blooming of a family and the everyday joy of life with one of China's jewels. I have been there with you during all of these tough times and have experienced your JOY.... Now I feel kind of let down, out of the loop and in need of continuing to be part of your world. SO really, is it just me that misses the closed down blogs or are others feeling my loss???

I know what you mean. There are some that I am really missing too.

I hope to keep up with things myself but, I suppose, we never can predict how life will turn out once our girls are home.

I try to keep it up, and try to post at least once a week....it doesn't take that long to put up some pics and short post...not as funny or carefully worded as before, but still, an updated.

Nope. I am right there with ya. Then there are the ones that go password protected and I have no idea how to get in touch with them to see if I can have the password. Grrrrr....

Perhaps it's do to babies on the go and sleep deprivation....

I have been watching a lot of blogs in the last 7 months.. But I did not feel that I should comment because we did not have a log in date.. Finally we do 4/28/07, but a lot of them have been home and will only update once a month or once every 2 months.. it is kind of sad..I feel your pain..

Yes, yes, I know what you mean.

Isn't it a lot like the non-cyber reality of friends that change shape, dimension and friend circle once they are home from the hospital - or first grade - or whatever - with their child? I remember going to a party recently with old friends that had a child & we were like, "Whoa!, the landscape has totally changed".

It is hard. It sucks sometimes. But, there is nothing that you can do about it. It may just be you someday. Or me. Prob. both of us.

Let's just be here - now - for each other until it just doesn't work so well anymore.

XOXO

This keeps the time while we wait, the kids keep the time when we are home.

I know exactly what you mean! I miss the Naked Ovary soooooo bad! I only hope that what has just happened over at Salsa doesn't make them shut down too. That would be a VERY sad day!

Yeah, I thought the same thing. I know it's inevitable but it still sucks when it happens.

It's like the book is closed before you read the ending....

It makes me feel like I need to close up shop, but I do it more for the family who lives nowhere near us, saves on the phone calls as well~!

Yeah, not only families that have come home, but families waiting too. I guess the families that are home, are just way too busy, rearing their energetic little ones?! And the waiting families, just got sick of thinking about the wait I guess. The blog reminds them of the wait.

I think it's sad, but I also think it might be the natural progression of this whole crazy adoption process. Our bloggy world is here to get us through the wait, then we get to share our trip and Gotcha Day with everyone. Once we're home and settle into parenthood, I really do think that the desire to keep blogging takes a low priority...especially for full-time working parents.

I'm not sure myself if I'll keep my blog up after maternity leave and once I'm settled back in at work.

It is sad, but I think we all get to be part of each others lives for a short time, unless there is an effort made to stay in contact outside blogging.

Lisa, we need to make that effort so Lauren & Tate can be friends too!

Yea - it bums me out there are a few that are gone. I guess perhaps once we are there - we will know what it is really like. I mean - I figure I can totally do it ALL.... right?? LOL!!!
