DINGY.......

To those who have had conversations with me lately, DINGY is how you might describe your encounter with ME!!! Freak!!! I'm searching for words, loosing concentration, talking slow. This is not the true me. Sadly, I am very aware of this. I kind of brushed it off as an age thing.... hormones, stress, preoccupations. A few weeks ago I had my third and FINAL physical for the updated home study. The doctor was new to me and a detailed history was taken. During this conversation the doctor suggested a few other blood levels to be drawn. Heck, even she could tell that I was dingy! My blood work showed vitamin deficiencies which would be to blame for all this freakin' memory, searchy, flighty behaviors. I now will be having weekly Vitamin B something shots (memory to blame for not remember which one), prescriptive strength iron, Vitamin D.....

Oh how I look forward to my witty, sharp minded self again. For those who knew me when will scream "Welcome back, my friend"... for the new friends, I am sure you will be saying "Who is the woman???"

Tomorrow I start the weekly shots... oh my achy arms.

How about daily multi-vitamins + calcium & vitamin D? I am a firm believer and -do it on most (not all) days :)

Health is important - especially since we will be older parents! I keep thinking how old our kids will be when we're in college...scary eh?

oh my heck! I need to get my blood levels checked as well! I am right there with you in the "dingy" arena! I thought it was cause I work the night shift and am constantly sleep deprived.

You might be dingy, but you've got plenty of brain to be hilarious! ; )

Glad I'm not the only forgetting things! My son(age 8)said last week, "Mom, you can't remember stuff anymore....Is it because your OLD?" I was going to blame it on the adoption, but I should probably think about some vitamins....If I remember! =)

What a treat it will be for you to be back to your old self....although I love da new one.

Warning: I had vitamin B shots a number of years ago. It weren't me arms that they shot that sucker into. Bend over sweets! :o)

Hopefully it's changed....

I would comment on this but I can't remember the problem...lol. My memory failed a few years back. I started carrying a pad and pen everywhere till Hubby caught me writing things like my new pin number in it....So now I just call him and he remembers for me....most days. Good luck with those shots...hopefully you won't remember the pain part...if you remember the appointments....

You are hilarious. And I can relate - I keep telling people I hope I am not so dingy lately as to not HAVE any friends left after referral! :-) Hang in there...

My mom has those and loves them! They have really helped. My dad gives them to her...I think this is so funny. I hope they help you too. Also, thanks for the info, maybe that is what is wrong with me too.

I also get vitamin B12 shots. I give them to myself. And Catherine is right--it isn't the arm you put that needle into! Lol! Teri W.

Vitamin B 12 is the one they shoot you up with. You need it to absorb iron.

I had a similar thing happen. I was losing hair (more than normal) and having insomnia. Turns out my Ferritin levels (Iron) we only 23. They are supposed to be 60-137. Prescriptive iron takes 40-90 days to work, so keep taking it, and drink it in your OJ with a straw or it will turn your teeth black! ;o)
