NECESSITY

NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF ALL INVENTIONS!!!

Keep this in mind with you view my latest attempt to save money on my Natural Gas Bill!! This is a 103 year old house!!! I have replaced all other windows in the house but the living room and dining room which has four HUGE single glass paned (pain in the pocket book) windows... This year the front door is also "drafty" and all my other attempts of keeping in the heat just isn't working.... I really need a handy man who will come and weatherize it.... But until I do this... This is my attempt of using all the Pottery Barn catalogs I get in the mail and stop the DRAFT!!!

Oh I hear you, girlfriend!!!!! I almost had a stroke this month when I opened our gas bill - $365.00. Don't the gas people know we are in the middle of an expensive adoption!!!! Shouldn't there be an adoption discount?

Great idea. It's better than looking at all those Pottery Barn catalogs anyway - they always make me feel bad that my house doesn't look like the rooms in the catalog!

I never would have thought to use catalogs as weatherstripping! Love the pic. Hope your keeping warm!

Great idea! It also keeps the catalogs closed so that you're not tempted to shop. Hmmmm...maybe I should do the same with my scrapbooking magazines!

Brrr...sure has been cold lately! I'm keeping the blinds closed just hoping for an extra barrier to the cold.

Bring on spring!!!

For one brief moment I was glad I live in the South. Then I remembered it's Feb and will be 52 today and that that number will double monthly until it's 208 in the shade (except that all the leaves went up in flames) and I burn out another AC unit. My Hubby pointed out that I kill one every four years on average, that I should either move north or live in the freezer. I just think cold is better. I can always put on more clothes...unless I want to go to jail I can only take off so much....Anyway that is still the best use for a Pottery Barn Catalog I have ever seen.

Well that must be the best dang use of those catalogs I've ever seen!!! You just crack me up! You should mail that picture to Pottery Barn and see what they say. I swear those people send us 4 catalogs a week.

Clever - and stylish!

The added benefit is that it may stop crazed Chinese neighbors from backing their car through your front door. ;o)
