One single whimper from Mesa, and out of a dead sleep, my eyes POP right open and I go immediately to my pup. This was the case just now. BIG THUNDERSTORM and Mesa is asleep in her room, aka the sunporch. ONE BIG CRACK of lightening and Mesa freaks.
SCARED + RESCUE= SAFE
Mesa is laying soundly asleep on my bed and I am AWAKE at the computer.... the storm has passed.
AND I AM BLESSED WITH THESE MOMMA EARS!!!

Oh, I know what you mean! I haven't slept in in the last 3+ years because Buffy gets me up EARLY each and every morning. I feel ready for motherhood!
and just you wait. You should get the eyes in the back of your head soon too ;0)
I know what you mean....I sleep with fan noise to block out anything from disturbing the sleep, not that it works, still hear everything.
Love the clip art! hehe
See, this proves it - you are going to be THE BEST mom. Now if CCAA would just get their butts in gear so it happens FAST!
I know what you mean. I can sleep through a train running through the bedroom as my grandma used to say, but if one of my pups whimpers or whines both feet are on the floor and I'm there.
I often wonder if Ryan will finally be able to do that when Tori comes home. I can be up with the dogs, clean up a mess, take them outside, and get back in bed. The next morning he never knew I left the room. ????
You aren't ever going to sleep again! Just me! Those darn Mama ears (love that one).
Lisa- I love your blog look- it is awesome! Thoses Mommy ears will really come in handy hopefully sooner then later!
Good mommy! I would have done that same thing!
Honestly, I am so envious of your storm. This may sound weird, but we rarely get rain and even more rarely get thunderstorms around here....and I miss it. The rainy season is very short and specific. Sorry that your puppy got scared & that you were up...but deep inside, I'm a bit jealous.
I'm so glad that I stumbled upon your blog - cuz, we're on the same path, although you're a bit ahead of me.
We may not hear the phone ring when we are asleep but our furbabies... we develop keen senses!
Keep smilin!
