This year I am going to do something ATTAINABLE!!!! I am simply going to take my vitamins and Emer’gen C packets everyday. A friend of mine gave me a ton of these little packets….It's MAGIC!!!! If you feel any kind of flu or cold coming on, all you take are these packets with juice 3 times a day… BAMMMMM…No more sickness. To BOOST your immune system, take everyday!!!!!!! I'm feelin' healthier just writing this…..Oh and the dog will walk me daily per her usual routine....

Great things are in store for 2006!!!!!!!!!!

CAFFIENE

Does anyone else feel like BLOG-land has taken over their lives??? Case in point...it is 6 am I driving to work, thinking of my BLOG. I am parking my car and thinking what pictures I will see from my favorite little gals and other BLOGs...Totally locked the keys in my car and FORGOT my life blood COFFEE which is locked in the car!!!!!! What's a gal to do in Freaking 6 am in the morning in the dark, cold and in need of her morning keg of COFFEE!???!!!!!! Initially screamed, cursed and then called security...... Thank you guys in BLUE...Opened my car door and quickly retrieved my COFFEE!!!!!!!! Life is getting better...But what about my obsession with BLOG-land????? Do I need an intervention????

WHITE ELEPHANT

I love white elephant gifts!!! Went to a Christmas party last week....I brought a package of SPIDER MAN UNDER-ROO SIZE 6 BOYS BRIEFS wrapped in a Victoria Secrets box .... I left with these St Bernard over-sized SLIPPERS!!!!!! Endless of hours of fun were had by me and the Pup.... Mesa thought that these stuffed puppies were real and chased and dodged my dancing feet.... While she was entertained I got a pretty good aerobic work out!!!!!

CHRISTMAS GIFTS

BLING BLING....NEW EARRINGS.... I got these GEMS from my two young nieces.... After the screaming and excitement (by me) stopped the 6 year old, Heather, whispered in my ear..."they're not REAL!!!" as if.


Also got a small crock pot....Perfect for HOME COOKING when I get my little Tate... Great in theory but please.....SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME RECIPES!!!!!!! I can only cook complicated Gourmet type meals!!!!

ENLIGHTENMENT

Who would have thought that a McDonald's Happy Meal could cause ENLIGHTENMENT!!!! With all the Bummer Blogs about the *rumors* and the slowdowns and the whatever...People actually taking breaks from the BLOG world to re-group... Well, my dear friends, I have had an epiphany...in the form of a Chicken McNugget (with sweet and sour sauce) apple dipper and diet Coke meal!!!! The set up...Driving along, starving and not wanting to *cook* I go to a place I never eat at....MCDONALDS. Order up a HAPPY MEAL....ask for an INFANT GIRL prize (since I am always thinking of my little Tate's needs)... and much to my surprise my Infant toy was a Little People Asian girl!!!! You have got to believe it is a sign!!!!

I think that I have figured out how to post a picture!!!!! It is of my sweet girl Mesa Mei-Mucho who is 90 lbs of loving-snuggle fun....She is 22 months and too sweet for words. She is a freak for a tennis ball and thinks EVERYONE at the dog park is there to be greeted by her. She is fluent in English and understands some Norwegian words also......Pan down a few posting to find her.....I have tried to post two other pictures but have not been successful.....I will figure it out cause one is of me. Any suggestions what I am doing wrong???? Or does it take like forever to load?????

I just got off the phone with Amy from Ruby in Her Own Time and promised I would post pictures and one with me so you all will know who I am .... I am working on it ....I promise SOON!!!! Should it be a GLAMOUR SHOT (???) or the way I look at any given time in a ponytail and sweats... Since I am not the GLAMOUR SHOTS kind of gal I will present myself in all my "NATURAL" glory.... minus the sweats I think....

WOW THE COMPANY

I belong to the world FAMOUS gourmet club of SLC...At our Christmas Party this year this simple yet amazingly festive sauce was made....Want to WOW the company? This will do it.

Buttery Apple-Cinnamon Sauce
1 1/2 cups of BUTTER (a must)
2 cups Brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 handfuls of freeze-dried or dried apples diced into 1/2 pieces
1 can chicken broth

In saucepan melt the butter add the brown sugar and cook until bubbly. Add the spices, apples and chicken broth. Bring to boil and set aside for apples to soften. Pour over a roasted pork tenderloin as a sauce.... Enjoy!!!

Now my blog will be full of amazing and creative pics just like AMY and Ruby Cate's...Unfortunately my pics will not be of an adorable gal, but well...NO promises until I can figure out how to use this camera and learn how to upload onto this BLOG...... Baby steps I took toward my decision to adopt....
Two years ago a friend suggested to me that I would make a great MOM and I should consider adopting... Then she moved and left me with a plant and a challenge to keep the plant surviving for a year (that plant is now a jungle) ....If the plant survived my next step would be to get a puppy...If the puppy survived then the final step would be to adopt a child.....The puppy was at that time a 7 week Golden Retriever puppy (now 22 mos and 90 lbs of lovin') and is the love of my life.... now on to my ultimate challenge...

A BIT OF A PAMPER

I am in need of a major pamper session. I need the whole nine yards from head to toe…

~Why pedicure only in SUMMER???? This is being shouted out from my shoes….
~Skin is screaming….exfoliate me!!!! Hmmmmmmm….a little salt rub???
~And the muscles… OH MY ACHING SHOULDERS!!!!! Too many hours working in stressful situations!!!!! Knots up and down from neck to tail bone…
~Is that a forest growing above my eyes???? No- just my eyebrows in need of some pruning!!!!
~As for the mane on top of my hair….Lady Godiva like….CUT IT!!!!!!

Next week *I* will feel like a new woman---appointments have been made…….

GUSSY'S GOOP

Just wanted to share a easy recipe and great neighbor or party or family present...I usually make a batch, eat half of it, make another batch....eat half....
BAG IT IMMEDIATELY *IF* YOU DO NOT WANT TO GAIN THE INFAMOUS 10 lb HOLIDAY WEIGHT!!!!
yummmmmmmm yummmmmm

Gussy's Goop
10 cups rice or corn CHEX cereal
12 cups Golden Grahams cereal
1- 14 oz bag coconut
2 cups cashews
Mix above in large bowl.

1 1/2 cup butter (3 cubes of BUTTER) a must
2 cups white sugar
2 cups light Karo syrup

Melt and boil for 2 minutes. Pour and mix with cereal mixture. Cool on parchment paper or wax on counter top...BAG...and ENJOY!!!

FREAKY UNUSUAL

These days this is almost unheard of….My parents have been HAPPILY married for 54 years!!!!! FREAKY since my parents married young (17 and 21 years of age) and superstitiously on FRIDAY the 13th of December. With the rates of divorce in this nation this is something to shout from the roof tops!!!! Or in my case the mountain tops!!! Mom and Dad thanks for sticking with it all these years putting aside your individual self fulfillment's and needs, putting your marriage and your kiddos first and making a stable life, and providing a loving home for all of us….You guys have been an inspiration for your kids as well as others who have known you….HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!

DAD AND THE COMPUTER

I am a little computer challenged….Am I scared of the computer??? Is it a lack of experience???? Could this be a genetic thing??? My Dad thinks that if he were to use the computer and just happened to push a wrong button…well he just might have blown up the world!!!! Hmmmmmmm.… It can’t be genetic!!! Case in point…Same genetics shared by my amazing Brother (HI JOHN) who is a computer genius and works running computer companies….. John and I have got a real challenge getting my Dad to feel comfortable with his ability to turn on the computer AND not blow up the world….You see, my Mom will be traveling with me for 2-21/2 weeks to pick up my little Tate and I want him to log on often and see my newly-made family and his new granddaughter who just happens to be on the other side of the WORLD in China!!!! I want him to know, love and bond to my little Tate even before he will get to meet her at the airport.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

On a small farm on the East Coast of Norway, seventy-one years ago, my beautiful MOM was born. No fancy hospitals or equipped nurseries for her. My Mom has survived the occupation of Hitler's army, immigration to a new country, learning a new language and raising a family of four kids. Throughout all of this she has remained true to herself and her beliefs in charity and love. She has been a great example to me. Now as I am on the path of motherhood, I hope that I can be the kind of example to my daughter Tate that my mom has been to me. It just breaks my heart that Tate will not get to spend the rest of her life knowing and loving her sweet NANA. Live healthy and long MOM....We need you to stay in our lives.
(now if I could figure how to post a picture I would...)

What Have I Done?

I am that shy watcher...I read BLOGS and post comments occasionally. What have I done? I just had to comment on ONE BLOG about a posting that*I* felt so passionately about. To comment on this BLOG required that I had to have a BLOG. Hence my BLOG...
