COUCH POTATO

I have been stretched on my couch with the laptop balanced, oh so wobbly, for hours and hours. EACH.AND.EVERY.NIGHT.I am searching for any information that would fill this huge void I feel because of the lack of information for my Tate. Somewhere I am hoping there is a family who traveled to PoYang (August 08-recent) and might have some pictures of Tate... AKA Bo YuZhu.

If I could tear myself away from this laptop, I just might head to the store for some ice cream. Funny thing is, I am not that big a fan of ice cream. Instead I am on the Internet searching so much that my hand is tingly and numb.

I did have a not so slight meltdown this afternoon. I am a bundle of emotions. So tired and overwhelmed.

It seems like forever until you get there and then when you go it seems like it went so fast.

You won't feel better till you have Tate and can check she is REALLY all OK and see that with your own eyes. It just doesn't work if someone else tells you she is OK.

Just one of those things. do your best to be prepared - the next few weeks do tend to be intense, but it is all good.

Melt downs are normal as a parent....trust me....I've had one. No idea what it's like to be waiting this long for info. Be kind to yourself.....hell- eat some ice cream! Whatever makes you feel good (it's butterfinger for me:)

I wish I could help! Have you contacted RedThreadChina? I've heard most/all who use their care package services have updated info and/or pics within a week.

I cannot imagine how hard it must be not knowing more about your precious baby Tate. (((hugs)))

I'm pretty sure you already know of this group, but - just in case - have you joined Poyang Families?

My best bud is a member.

join her orphanage Yahoo group, if you haven't already. I have found a wealth of information on my daughter's orphanage Yahoo group.
It is also how I was able to get so many updated pictures of my daughter - I was able to obtain the contact information of a person who got me those pictures.

I remember I did ALOT of ironing while I waited for Riley. It is probably the only time ever that her (or Dan's) clothes ever got ironed!
Now we are lucky they get folded before I shove them back in their drawers.

Lisa, you're home-free! This is the good part...you'll see Tate soon, guaranteed. Now that your meltdown is over, move onto the ice cream! The time is flying; it just doesn't seem like it!

I'm sure the lack of information is frustrating. Just hang on to the fact that you now know who your little one is and she is waiting for you in China. Pretty soon you'll know everything about her!

Hoping you get updated info soon. I got info from E's orphanage group even though she wasn't living there. One family also had a few pictures as our girls were crib mates at one point. I think I also put a call out on APC which has the largest reader base. Good luck and hang in there.

I'd be doing the same thing. Come on agency, anyone send some info about our sweet Tate. BTW, did you get a package I sent (I'm hoping it got to you) and still waiting to hear about referral day, how it all went down! Details, Lisa, Details!!!

Not only the Poyang Families group on yahoo, but there's also one for Jiangxi families: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Jiangxichildren/?yguid=269773646
I hope this part of the wait goes quickly for you!

It's amazing isn't it? Yup, the hardest part of the ENTIRE wait was the after referral part. I know it's in the post after this, but yes, it does feel empowering (love that word) to feel like you are doing something for your girl. Go out now, though, and get a massage/pedi/daytrip/couch potato out... whatever you feel makes you feel like you and you can focus on yourself. Those days will be long gone soon! The packing will get done and the trip will happen and it will all fall into place. Celebrate you right now with that extra joy in your heart (soon in your arms) but with no responsibilities. =)

Hugs to you my friend. You have the right to have a melt down every now and again. It's okay.
