WAITING FAMILIES

Where are you Utah FCC?????

I have been so envious of all the states that have an active FCC program..... Since I am using a really small agency, I feel I am floating alone out there on a raft in the huge ocean known as International Adoption.... and really I would be drowning if not for the great people I have met and the support from the internet DTC and blogs...

Last night we had our first Waiting Child China family group dinner..... Granted it was just me and Tiffany who met at a Thai resturant, but it was a start!!!! We chose the Thai Garden because it was written up in a local SLC magazine as the BEST Thai in Utah..... Since we will be eating at the famous Cow and Bridge in GZ, we thought we would go into training.....Next month???? Who knows????

I know there are other Families waiting in Utah, but in many attempts with the local FCC I have not been unable to find this group.... So if anyone is reading this (LeeAnne) and wants to join in..... or has information of an existing group I would love to be know..... Email mail me and I will give you the 411......

Hi Lisa,

I know how you feel. It's me and Shannon T. going it alone out here in Tucson! I'll be in town on the 23rd and 24th of July and possibly passing through again on the 28th and 29th. Maybe we could get some bloggers/waiters together for lunch??? I'd love to meet you!

Lisa,

Ask in the LDS group about an FCC chapter. There are several in Utah, and the SLC one is very large. :o) It's fun to go to the activities while you're waiting and see all the little cuties.

Come see my new corgi! She's "MC-1". I can't wait to get her!

Doesn't Brian Stuy live in SLC? You know, the finding ad guy?

I don't know why, but all this time I thought you were in WV. Wonder where that crazy thought came from. The Rocky Mtns, clearly not in WV. I must be losing my mind. Maybe you said you were in the middle of nowhere, so I just thought, Oh she must mean WV? Who knows. Anyways, good luck finding folks. It certainly helps to have a local support group!

Two's a good start. I think it is great that you're making the effort to pull together a group. It is definitely worth the effort to have that extra support. Good luck.

I love the fact that you are in a Waiting Family group, even if it is only you and Tiffany for now!!! Too cute!

Hey, start your own FCC group if there isn't one in your city. Unfortunately there is no national FCC to help but really it just takes a few families who are interested and then file the paperwork for 501c(3) status, if you even want to do the non-profit stuff.
Email me off list if you'd like a link to a national yahoo board of FCC leaders.
