SPINNING...

She is a YOUNG ONE.

I am just trying to come down to earth on this whole momma gig. Both mentally and around the Kingdom, I have been preparing for at least an 18 month toddler. The last few months I just KNEW that Tate was a three year old. Yes, oh YES, this age thing has totally rocked my world. I now have a whole new set of things to think about. Formula, bottles. rear facing car seat, toys, clothes, schedules, day care..... I am lovin' the idea that I will be there for so many of her FIRSTS. Including her FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! Oh yeah, I am sure my gal loves a party as much as I do.

Wow! I never thought of formula and rear facing car seats. What a difference a few months makes. :o)

I am SO excited for you!

I recommend a convertible like the britax marathon. It's expensive but works front and rear facing and has a high weight and height limit so it will likely be the only carseat you need before moving to a booster. For formula I like earths best, it doesn't have melamine and the other concerns that have been in the news recently. I am big on organic brands and you can get it on amazon on sale much of the time, I follow the blog babycheapskate.blogspot.com, the woman who runs it posts when formula and diapers are on sale. I didn't see Tate's weight but I used pampers swaddlers for all my babies up to a year old, the non name brand don't work so well for infants in my experience. I am so excited for you and I don't even know you in real life! Ellen

Also you definitely need a good carrier like the mei tai ( i like babyhawk), ergo or beco are also good choices. shana at waitingforsophie.blogspot.com knows a lot about carriers, they are wonderful for bonding

Congratulations on your baby...she is adorable! I hope you don't mind, but I found your blog linked from another...you know how that goes. Anyway, I saw that you are a single mom to be...I am single and have 2 daughters from China. Have a great time in China.

I was also convinced my referral was going to be for a 15-18 month old...and Emma was 8 months old at referral! Everything about her, including her age, will be perfect for you.

You will be so happy to get her so young! Firsts are the best! I haven't had many yet but- I am looking forward to them. I swear she smiles but it's all reflexive at this point

I am over the moon excited that you will be getting to do so many firsts with Tate! How is my sweet Mesa? Is she excited about being a big sister? Tell her to watch for the mailman later this week!

Hello! I recently found your blog and what timing! Your baby is SO beautiful and how amazing she is so little.
For my girl the snugli worked very well and was pretty inexpensive, she loved to just hang out while I walked around.

The same thing happened to us...our daughter is from Poyang too and she was well taken care of and just over 91/2 at gotcha. She really only ate formula although her papework indicated otherwise she had no teeth but was very happy social and loved to play and go. She is a jewel...we too had to retrain our minds to think baby as we were prepared for a toddler. It is so special to be there first..first tooth, we think first sitting up but maybe not she was pretty wobbly with sitting at first, first birthday was huge, first crawl and walk...come join the Poyang yahoo group it is awesome...small but really great. If I can help in anyway let me know...do what you can to visit the SWI, it is really nice and they are very gracious.

so excited for you! One thing my sister told me was how quickly they outgrow things and "pre-child" I didn't get it, now I do. Anything you can borrow is great because the phases change so fast. It's going to be great and you are a MOMMA now!!
