WE HAVE TA!!!!

Now just waiting to hear when we travel. I am being hopeful the Jiangxi Provincial appointment is given without a hiccup.

Update on the FLIP or NO FLIP.....

I have an amazing Canon Rebel camera (thanks Ginny). I also have a digi camera that I forgot will do video as well. My brother who is traveling with me will bring his video camera for the gotcha, etc. When I get home, I will buy a good hand held video camera as well as the FLIP. I really want quality and zoom capacity, but would love the convenience of the FLIP.

I am off to buy passeys, nipples, swimmer and overnight diapers. What is it that shouts out BABY when you buy these things? I read on the nipple package that I need to "boil nipples for 5 minutes". Better get that done while I have time.

I am finally starting to pack stuff for Tate. I have bought the medicine and set out the clothes and the few toys I plan on bringing. With the hopes of her still having that mass of hair, I am making bows to match outfits. I did buy a special dress for her to wear for her official China appointment and the US Consulate appointment.

Next step dates of travel!

Your Welcome! I can't wait to see your pictures of China (and video).

Congratulations on your TA - shouldn't be long now before Tate is in your arms.

Buy a few different passeys, Libbi liked one type and not another, so you'll never know if they will like one or another and the binky clips were a life saver for me. I'm so excited for you!

Oh, I'm so excited for you! Here's my best piece of travel advice: Get a prescription of antibiotics for Tate to take with you. We had a letter from a doc who had adopted to show our doctor and he gave us a little course of omnicef or something. It was a LIFESAVER because Xanthe had chest congestion and what seemed like a sinus/bronchitis infection when we got her. The medicine started working right away. It's almost a given that all those babies probably have ear infections, etc. All the normal baby stuff. Let me know if you want a copy of the letter to give your doctor!

Oh...also, both our hotels had tea pots for boiling water in our room. Perfect for fixing baby bottles! We bought Chinese formula at Walmart right after we got Xanthe...so her tummy wouldn't have to adjust to American formula.

TA!!!! Woo-hoo!!! And shopping for baby- oh how fun! Enjoy!!! I was the only one in the group that used a pacifier (got dirty looks from the locals) but E took to it quickly and won't look back. I'm plannig on dealing with it this summer when I'm home full time for a few months. Shane had to teach her how to use the pacifier! HAHA!

Fantastic! I can't wait for the day you see your daughter, I can only imagine how you must feel.

I didn't get the Flip, I got the Kodak after it came highly praised by an experienced photographing/videoing mom. She said the Kodak Z16 is more sturdy in case of drops and bumps, etc... It costs just a tiny bit more, like $20 more.

I am still getting used to it. Well, honestly, I'm getting used to taking video. I am TERRIBLE at it. I need to remember to move the camers SLOWLY and not zip past everything. As soon as I get the key to my new home, I'll made a video tour and post it.

Great news.
I personally avoided ever using a pacifier. My kid had never had one and it becomes an added thing to every moment of the day.
